For urgent problems, please call rather than email.
Can I book online?
Yes, online booking is available for new & existing patient exams / hygienist appointments for existing patients. Click here to make an online booking.
For emergencies, complex treatment or if you are unsure what you may require, please call us.
How do I change or cancel an appointment?
Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to change or cancel your appointment. This helps us offer the time to another patient who may be waiting.
To ensure you are not charged for missed appointments or late cancellations please give 48 hours’ notice.
What happens if I miss an appointment?
Missed appointments make it harder for us to help other patients. If you miss an appointment or cancel at short notice, a fee may apply in line with our practice policy. We reserve the right to waive part or all of the fee if we are able to rebook the appointment time for another patient.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a list of any medications you take, details of any medical conditions, and information about previous dental treatment if relevant. If you have dental insurance or a dental plan, please bring those details too. Also, ensure you know your registered medical practice contact details along with your NHS number, even for private patients, as these are required if we need to refer you at any point.
Do you see children and families?
Yes, we welcome children and families. We aim to make visits calm, friendly and positive, especially for younger patients or anyone who feels nervous about dental care. We have a small NHS contract allowing us to see our patients’ children free of charge on the NHS.
How much will my appointment or treatment cost?
The current fees for new and existing patient examinations and hygienist visits are available from reception and are also displayed before booking online. Before starting any additional treatment, we will explain your options and provide an estimate or treatment plan specific to you.
There are almost always varying ways to approach each issue, meaning that individualised quotes are far better than issuing a ‘price list’ which can often be meaningless.
Do you offer dental plans, finance or insurance support?
Many of our patients use Dental Cash Plans, such as SimplyHealth to help with the cost of dental treatment. Our team can explain the options and help you understand what may suit your needs.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency during opening hours?
If you have severe pain, swelling, trauma, bleeding, a broken tooth or another urgent problem, please call us as early in the day as possible on 01453 827474. We will advise you on the most appropriate next step. We will always endeavour to see you the same day, but you may be required to come along and sit and wait.
What should I do if the practice is closed?
If the practice is closed and you have an urgent dental problem, please call NHS 111 or contact us on 01453 827474 and follow the extensive instructions on our answerphone.
If you have facial swelling affecting your breathing, swallowing or eye, uncontrolled bleeding, or serious trauma, seek urgent medical help or attend Gloucester Hospital A&E (NOT Stroud).
Can nervous patients be helped?
Yes. Please let us know when booking if you feel nervous. We will take things at your pace, explain what is happening, and help you feel as comfortable and in control as possible. If necessary there are occasionally additional steps which may be required and which we may be able to support you with.
